Enabling API Access in Salesforce

Modified on Mon, 3 Jul, 2023 at 12:23 PM

Leadmonk requires API access to integrate with your Salesforce account. To enable API access, you need to have the necessary permissions as a Salesforce Administrator.

API access can be enabled in two ways: through profiles and permission sets.

This documentation will guide you through the process of enabling API access using both methods.

Enable API access in Salesforce through Profile

API access can be granted to a user by modifying their profile settings. Follow the steps below to enable API access for a profile:

1. Log in to your Salesforce account as a Salesforce Administrator.

2. Click on the "Setup" link at the top-right corner of the page.

2. Type profiles into the Quick Find box and select Profiles.

3. Click Edit against the Profile you wish to enable API access for.

4. Scroll down to Administrative Permissions and check the API Enabled box and click Save.

Enable API Access in Salesforce through Permission Set

1. Click the Gear icon and click Setup.

2. Type permission into the Quick Find box and select Permission Sets.

3. Select the Permission Set you wish to enable API access for.

4. Scroll down to System and click System Permissions.

5. Click Edit

6. Check the API Enabled box and click Save.

Note: Enabling API access through permission sets allows you to grant API access to specific users without modifying their profile settings.

Once API access is enabled using either method, Leadmonk will be able to integrate with your Salesforce account seamlessly. If you encounter any issues during the process or need further assistance, please reach out to your Salesforce Administrator.
